For over a decade, SOM footwear has been crafting barefoot shoes in Colorado, led by its passionate founder Olie Marchal and his close-knit team. Aesthetically, I think they're great. There have also been small but meaningful quality upgrades, particularly the extended interior healcup lining and smoother stitching which make them significantly even more comfortable. If you make more colors with the white sole, I will buy them, even if I don't need them. Thanks.

    Great foot bed, feels like the perfect thickness, flex, durometer and support
    *Originally published on somfootwear.com on December 2018* Stoked on the briquette. Loving the sole and edge combo. This shape fits my foot better than the Norwood of 2017. I got an oil stain, bike grease, on the toe. Was able to wash it off- very cool. They do get a bit dirtier than the Norwood’s, but different color and material, nothing drastic, they still shed most dirt. Breathability is good- actually notice it most while riding a bike. Wear them about 4 days/week. Great foot bed, feels like the perfect thickness, flex, durometer and support. Sole wear is minimal, good non slip. Heel cup is good, not great for driving, does dig in when at that angle, but holds heel nicely. Getting picky - The sole has picked up little rock s- (auto correct failure) and I’ve had to pick them out upon noticing on hard surface- maybe 3 times- not often, but does happen. The toe form has started to crease shapes as I’ve smashed it, but only minimally. I’m curious how cutting some triangle slots in the heel cup, similar to couple versions ago, would change the feel. I really like this version, great shoe. Super utilitarian, gym, office, shop, trail, keep my feet happy all while looking good. Thanks *Now SOM style Briquette has been renamed "Mesa"*

I absolutely love them as an evolution of the shoe and the fit and finish is wonderful. I can’t take my eyes off the stitching. It’s just beautiful. Hoping more colorways come out soon. I have recommended SOM to anyone who asks about them. Comfort has always been on the top of my list, and I promise you when you put them on, being soooo comfortable you will forget to take them off. I will order another pair, not because these are worn, but because I will never buy another shoe brand again.
