When the weather outside turns frightful, these boots are SO delightful! Phoenix uppers are made of nothing but the softest leather and are fully-lined with sheepskin to naturally wick away moisture for warm, dry feet. These boots also feature replaceable sheepskin innersoles for long-term comfort.

A zipper on the outside makes this boot easy to wear over or under pant legs, and our zero-drop Lightning Vibram sole provides excellent traction in mild to moderate winter conditions. Go ahead, don’t let cold weather stop you from “blazing” a trail!

(Please see care and sizing tips below to ensure proper sheepskin maintenance and a great fit!)

  • Premium Chocolate brown leather uppers with Chocolate sheepskin
  • Durable, flexible and lightweight soles
  • Zero drop Vibram Lightning sole measures 5mm thick, plus 6mm additional base soling material (plus sheepskin fluff)
  • Fully lined with genuine sheepskin featuring replaceable Sheepskin Plus Innersoles
  • Roomy toebox
  • Can be worn with or without socks
  • Handcrafted in USA from premium, responsibly-sourced leathers

Phoenix boots are only made in one width. New boots should fit very snug, as the natural sheepskin will stretch, but the length of the boot should not cause your toes to curl against the front seam—a sign that the size is too small. Sorry, but half sizes, wide or narrow widths and custom adult boots are not available at this time. Please allow 1–2 weeks lead time for this product.

Too narrow for wide feet Review by Ariana
I was so hoping that I would be able to make these work for me, but as soon as I tried them on I knew it wouldn't. Oh how I wish these came in wide sizes; they were fuzzy and soft and simply too narrow for me. I usually buy both wide and a size bigger from softstar to make sure my toes have room (only the primal runamoc has worked for me in the recommended size thanks to the wide design of the shoe). Barefoot Heaven Review by Lisa
I have worn these on single digit walks with NO SOCKS half a dozen times...and no cold toes or feet. I have never worn socks with them, you don’t need them. The sheepskin is divine. I wore them for a few weeks before adding the insoles and the longer I wear them the more comfortable they become. Best, Boots, Ever. (Posted on 1/4/18)
Wool quality in 2013 vs 2017 Review by Angelina
I first purchased these boots in 2013. I loved them to death. I have worn them every winter since. They held up very well. The seam of the shoe and the vibram sole began to split which was fixed with super glue.

I began a job where I stand all day. My feet grew and the size I purchased became uncomfortable. I assumed the shoes would be exactly the same and purchased the brown pair again. I was disappointed the shoes were now two toned brown and they had gone up 25$. I assumed this was to assure the quality I had purchased in 2013: supple wool and a snug fit on the foot and calf. This was not the case at all. I’ve had them about two months. I was displeased from the start. Due to the lack of supple wool, mind you it’s merely not as thick. It’s as if they switched to shearling wool for the insole. They have worn uneven. The right shoe is now to where I can feel my big toe on the bottom. Even the wool inserts are better quality. The same is to be said for the wool on the calf. It lacks the original thickness, is much finer, and does not hug the calf well enough.

I am disappointed with the pair of boots. I wish I hadn’t outgrown my original pair because they are gorgeous! Unfortunately, I’ll end up buying these again in a few years because they are zero drop, the soles are good quality, and I like the leather. The wool was severely disappointing this year. So bummed.

I wish it were possible to submit photos. The difference is shocking.

Note from the Elves: Thanks Angelina for your review. One of our elves will be reaching out to you shortly regarding your insoles - the good news is that our 2017 boots have replaceable innersoles and we will get that addressed for you. Yes, the colors sometimes change from one collection year to the next - we will let our design elves know you prefer the solid brown boot in the future. (Posted on 12/9/17)
Will buy these in wide Review by Abby
These are super warm and cozy, wish they came in wide. I usually wear wide in softstars, so went up 1 size. I wore them for 3 seasons, but they were still too tight. I now wear the Chukkas in cold weather, but would get another pair if they ever come in wide. (Posted on 9/25/17)
6 years and counting... Review by Heather
These are pricey boots, but considering I have now worn mine for 6 winters (5-6 months/year), they are definitely worth the cost! I love how comfy my Phoenix boots are - I can wear them all day with no issues. The soft sheepskin inner means that I can wear them without socks and my feet still stay warm. I did have to re-glue the soles once a couple of years ago, but they have been going strong since them. I have a second pair put away for when these current ones finally bite the dust.

These were my very first pair of Soft Star shoes but were not my last. Soft Stars are now the only shoes I will wear! (Posted on 5/18/17)
Heaven on my feet Review by Colleen
These boots are my first pair of Soft Star shoes. They may be the most comfortable thing I've ever worn! I prefer them without socks--I find that they keep my feet just the right temperature that way. (Plus, the sheepskin is so soft and feels amazing next to my skin.) They were very easy to waterproof with the recommended Bee Natural Rain & Snow product.

My 5-star rating is for the comfort of the shoes and the quality of Soft Star's customer support (aka "the Elves"). My first pair of these boots had a slight defect in one of the heels. I noticed this after wearing them for almost 2 weeks, and the Elves were very quick and helpful with the exchange process.

A note on sizing: I'm normally a women's 8.5-9, depending on the style and brand, and I measured almost exactly between the Soft Star 7U and 8U sizes. My first pair were 8U's since they recommend sizing up for these boots. They broke in nicely and felt fine, but since I figured out that I like to wear them without socks, I went for a 7U when I exchanged the boots for the defect issue, and they fit perfectly. Wonderful Winter Boots Review by Melissa
The Phoenix boots are wonderful! Very well crafted, extremely comfortable, very warm and mold very nicely to your feet. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Now for some of the challenges: I live in South Western Ontario where the temperatures vary from -20F to 30F throughout the winter season. This means lots of salt and slush and ice. These boots excel when the weather is crisp and the snow isn't wet, however they tend to get a wet inside if walking in slushy or rainy conditions. They also don't offer significant traction in icy conditions. I would highly recommend conditioning the leather regularly and weatherproofing it in order to give these boots a longer life.

Thoughts on Sizing: My two favourite fits are the Solstice Sandal (7U) and the Rambler (8U), both of these fit my wide toe box and narrow heel very well! I also have Chukkas (8U) which are a bit too narrow in the tow box and perhaps a bit short (should have ordered a wide in hindsight). I went with an 8U in the Phoenix, at first I was worried they were too tight, but after a week of wearing them, they were near perfection! (The Elves talked me through my sizing issues and their advice was spot on! Thanks Elves!!!) (Posted on 2/3/17)
Comfortable but did not hold up well. Review by Janet
I bought these as a gift for my daughter in law and she said they were so comfortable and she loved them. But, they started coming apart inside and she was able to send them back, free shipping and they are going to try to repair them or they will replace them. I sure hope it doesn't take long as she really needs warm boots now since it is in the 30s where she lives.

Very Good Boot Review by Molly
If it were possible, I'd go barefoot all year round. Unfortunately, I live in the Midwest where a lot of snow happens, so I decided to get myself a pair of these boots. I initially thought I might need to send them back and get a half size, which I wasn't thrilled about since the process is a bit of a hassle. I decided to keep the size I bought and hope that they'd stretch just a bit in length, which they seem to have done pretty well. I've worn them without socks on an hour long hike through a foot of snow, and they only started to get slightly wet on the inside toward the end - my feet stayed quite warm - not bad at all! If I could change anything, I would wish for an even thinner sole, but I know I'm not likely to find that in a this is definitely a much better option than something like my old Uggs. Great product overall. (Posted on 1/4/17)
amazing! Review by heather
I am giving a long term review of my all chocolate phoenix boots which I bought a few years ago. I was afraid to wear them in bad weather for a long time because they'd get mucky, but oh well. They are warm, comfortable and much beloved. I absolutely love them. They do hold up well to being in rain and snow.
I do wish the zippers were on the outside because I ride my bike and the zipper togs ping ping ping with every pedal. Also they could be taller as I was mushing through snow up to my knees the other day.
Some people think they are like Uggs but they are minimalist boots. They are light, zero heel, zero toe spring even my wide feet fit into them.
I would like another pair or two, but perhaps they could be offered under the design your own. (Posted on 12/23/16)
Love....except for zippers Review by Brooke
I tried these out last winter and they were wonderful, except I kept tripping because the inside zippers caught on each other. I was sad to send them back and am hoping that future versions will place the zipper on the outside. I thought I wrote a review but guess I forgot. Love the tan suede with brown leather. Hoping I can try these out again some day! (Posted on 12/15/16)

Perfect winter shoe for a summer sandal wearer Review by elaine
I was looking for a lighter, less clunky replacement for my 4+ year old Uggs, which I wear all winter as soon as it's too cold to wear my Sanuk sandals out anymore. The beat-up Uggs are so loose at this point, and heavy, that they were starting to irritate my knees. So I decided to try the Phoenix. In the size printout, I fall exactly in the middle of the size 8 range. When I first tried them on, I was very concerned about how snug the forefoot area was. My toes were very close to the front of the shoe, but they weren't curling against the leather. I wore them all day, and they loosened up beautifully!! I can wiggle my toes in them now but they're snug enough to not flop around. I even napped in them because they are just so darn comfy. I compared the Phoenix Vibram sole to my Sanuk yoga mat soles (women's size 9) and they're exactly the same length. It's worth mentioning that I wear boots with socks to keep them clean, and it doesn't negatively affect the sizing. Assuming they hold up as well this winter as other reviewers' boots have, I can definitely see myself ordering a second pair to have on hand so I can rotate them out and wear them forever. Love Review by Amanda
I love these boots, so comfortable! They work well for Pacific Northwest moderate length walks in the rain, though I do avoid puddles with them. If you walk long enough in a heavy rain, the wetness will eventually seep through, but your feet will still stay warm, particularly if you are wearing wool socks. Highly recommended! Best minimalist option for winter! Review by Marie
I love these boots -- I'm about to order my second pair. They're soft, cozy, and warm. They are not waterproof, so they can get a bit wet, which is not ideal, but we heat with wood and I love to let them dry by the fire.

I have worn my boots for three full winters and most of spring and fall. I've never once cleaned them or put on leather protector (I know I should have....), and I had them repaired one time, where the upper was coming away from the sole (because leather stiffened due to my lack of care). Not bad for soft leather boots.

I gave them 4 stars because they aren't perfect, but please note that I'm not aware of any other minimalist boots that would even get 4 stars.

Note to Soft Star -- Please switch the zippers to the outside. Another reviewer mentioned the zippers catching on one another when walking. My issue is that I want to wear my boots riding my bike, but the zipper got caught in the chain. My kids have Phoenix boots too, and I actually think it looks better with the zipper on the outside.

Thanks for an awesome boot! (Posted on 9/27/16)
Good but would have been better Review by Stephen O
First let me say I own 5 pairs of Soft Star shoes and I have bought another 3 pairs for family members. My original Dash and Roos are still going despite massive abuse on the Dash. It is due to the incredible resilience of the Dash that the Phoenix didn't meet the expectations.

Warm-these went through the winter in Dillingham Alaska and did exceptionally well
Comfortable- surrounds your feet and ankles with fluffy warm goodness.

Durable- the soles started separating after 6 months (stopped by use of superglue) otherwise they have held up very very well.
Uncleanable-This is my main complaint. If the wool gets wet (remember I live in a very snowy and wet place) you can't change the inner soles. The inner soles on mine are also kinda bunched up in places where my feet typically are leading to a lumpy feel. Having said that I am wearing them today in Wrangell Alaska going hiking.

Conclusion-if they changed the inner sole to a removable it would be a 5 star product like all my other Soft Star shoes.

Note from the Elves: Thanks Stephen! We will consider making the innersoles replaceable - great idea! (Posted on 4/21/16)
Best Boots Ever! Review by Karel
Now that my boots are in their third (!) winter and looking/feeling great, I thought it was time to write a review. I live in a city that uses far too much road salt, and I can remember questioning whether ordering these was a wise move. But, given that I wear only SSS, I did. They are a bit high maintenance - usually on a weekly basis, I clean off the salt stains with saddle soap, then clean them with Leather Amore, then apply Rain & Shine - but they have held up remarkably well. Plus, they are so warm and comfy and the soles make me feel reasonably safe on slippery pavement. I'm not a fan of winter, but Phoenix boots make it tolerable. (Posted on 1/26/16)
Great boots but didn't work for me Review by Leanne123505
These were the most comfortable boots I ever put on. I loved them. Unfortunately I had to send them back as the zippers on the inside of leg would catch on each other as I walked. I have a straight gait and have never had this happen before. The calf opening was quite wide ..perhaps zippers in the back? I saw a pair boots like that just the other day, same style, so I figure it is possible if this happens to many people. (Posted on 1/4/16)
Awesome Review by Connie
My experience is similar to others I have read here. Initially the boots were snug but stuffing a dry cloth into the toe over night made all the difference. I've worn the boots for a few weeks now and they fit perfect. They are so warm and cozy and super, super comfortable. (Posted on 1/2/16)
They're great in Anchorage, Alaska Review by RAHaviland
I received my pair about a month and a half ago and been wearing them up here in Anchorage, Alaska. Love 'em. Did have a little rubbing on top of my toes, but stuffed the boot toes with some socks when not being worn and they stretched to a nice fit. Once the temperatures get to single digits, a pair of wool socks took care of the cold. A little pricey, but worth it! (Posted on 12/31/15)
AMAZING! Review by Mrs.H
These boots are so comfortable! When I first tried them on, they were a bit snug, but in no time, they fit so perfect and feel so good that I never want to take them off! I love that the sole is more flexible than other boots and the quality surpasses any other sheep skin boots I have owned in the past. I prefer to wear them without socks because the sheep skin is so soft, comfy and warm. I was nervous about how they would look, but they are actually cute. These are definitely worth the money. (Posted on 12/29/15)
Wonderful! Review by D
i love theses boots! They just fit length wise when I bought them were very snug. After a few long days in them they have stretched and fit like a glove. This is the first pair of boots that keep my feet warm and let me have good ground feel. I see them as an investment that will pay me back with warm, healthy feet all winter! (Posted on 12/16/15)

Too pointy, a bit narrow but nice and flexible Review by Magnhild
I have wanted to get these for over a year. My kids had Phoenix boots last year, and I really loved them (although would have liked a wider version there as well). When my Phoenix arrived I was therefore disappointed. They don't have the nice round toebox with room for wiggling or using a "correct toes", as does the kids version. The adult version is quite pointy, not as extreme as many other brands, but still far from what can be called a natural foot shape. This was my first attempt on Soft Star adult shoes. If this pointy shape is what all of their adult shoes are, then it will be my last. And calling it shoes for happy healthy feet applies only to kids, not the adult versions.

Note from Soft Star: Dear Magnhild - so sorry the Phoenix boots did not work well for you!! It sounds like you need our wide width, and unfortunately the Phoenix is not offered in wide. Please take some cheer in knowing that as the sheepskin lining compresses, the uppers will provide much more room for wiggling. Of all the styles we make, the Phoenix tends to start the smallest due to the sheepskin effect. (Posted on 11/13/15)
Great boots Review by Stanlee
I have received these boots in the summer. Not have an opportunity to wear them. The inside is even softer than my Uggs. I had one cold day a week ago when I put them on. They are a it small inside but I can see that the fleece will mat down with wear and the shoe will stretch over time. Similar to my ballerine. Now waiting for the real cold weather. Great boots for long walks Review by Mirel
I walk 4-5 miles flat and up/down hill daily in Seattle fall/winter and they are phenomenal, these boots feel so comfortable and warm. This is my second winter and they are doing pretty well. When I first got them, the sole in the front opened up within two weeks, but the Elves fixed them and I haven't had a problem since. They are not stylish (pretty basic shape), but for my daily errand walks I really dont care about stylish. (Posted on 2/3/15)
Fantastic Review by Meg
I bought these instead of those Famous Australian Brand sheepskin boots, and I am glad I did. The sole is nice and flexible, and the leather upper lends some water resistance that all suede boots don't have. This is my second winter with them, and the soles hardly show any wear and they're fantastically warm for NYC winters. I did have bad blisters the first time I wore them, but after that they broke in perfectly. I love them. (Posted on 1/7/15)
So warm! Review by Carla
These boots are so warm and comfortable I hate to take them off! I only wish these were also made in a knee high style (and with a narrow heel - my heel lifts away from the boot when I walk). (Posted on 12/31/14)
Warm As Toast Review by J
I've had a few pairs of soft stars up until now and I finally took the plunge and purchased these for winter and I have never regretted it, and I know I will be wearing them right up until it gets way too warm.
You must take care of them, however, and treat them well. I inspect them often and condition the leather. If they get really wet, let them dry out properly. Caring for your shoes thoroughly really makes you appreciate the quality.
I live in a very wet place and they are not ideal for walking through shallow water, but that is almost always avoidable. If you are considering these boots and you live in a very dry, cold place, buy them, they will keep your feet warm and you can boost that even more by wearing them with thick wool socks. It is so wonderful to not be worried about having cold feet.
Thanks Guys, I will continue to be a customer, and if you ever come out with a pair of more sturdy working style of shoe/boot, I will be first to try it.

I put on my new boots for the first time at 5:30 a.m. It's now 8:30 p.m. and my feet are still cozy and comfy. Never have I worn a pair of boots for an entire day without aching to take them off. These really are amazingly comfortable. They look pretty good, too! (Posted on 11/19/14)

New boots Review by Debi
My boots came in the mail today! As soon as I opened the box they were on my feet. These boots are just what I was looking for. Hope they don't stretch out too much, they are perfect as is. Just need to water proof before the first snow. (Posted on 9/29/14)
: ) !!!!!!!! Review by ShareOn
Only found out about Soft Star Shoes in November 2014. Saw the boots. Saw the price. Waited. Bought shoes returned, needed size 11. Bought more shoes - but not boots until end of January. After I got my Roos and Ballerines, I could barely stand my old Ugg knock offs.
These boots are worth the price. Oh sure, it'd be nice to get them for less, but the point is to get them because they are awesome.

Comfy cozy inside. Nice and flat. I immediately applied water proofing, let sit at heat vent overnight and had no problem this past Michigan winter where we almost broke a record for the snowiest ever.

The traction on the sole was fine for the store parking lots, walk ways and steps. And the sole was thin enough I felt so much freer than the knock off Uggs I'd had. I looked at the Uggs site when I was shopping these boots, but the sole just seemed too thick. I made the right choice.

To make sure I got the maximum toe room, I spent some time stretching the toe with a damp cloth and my shoe trees. They opened up just a bit more - perfect.

These boots are great - one happy part of winter will be getting my boots out! (Posted on 6/7/14)
I love them Review by tinyfeet
I recently got one of the last chocolate Phoenix's. I had been imaginary shopping them for so long, finally had the beans to buy them. I ordered my usual size which was a mistake. It is also unfortunate that they only come in standard width, but you can stretch them. They are really snug-or at least start that way, so do go up a size. I have had to stretch the toes a bit because of how they are sewn, and was afraid to wear them at first because they were so brand new. My dash's are looking pretty battered!
Anyway, once I started wearing them, that was that. It is spring, but I think I will be wearing them as much as possible. I wore them on my trip to the big city with lots of walking and they were heavenly, bare feet and all. I have done some hiking in them, had to run to catch a bus... no problems.
I will not wear them in the rain until I have waterproofed them.
People compare them to Uggs or other similar boots, but they are not alike other than being boot shaped with some sheepy stuff going on. You can actually walk in these, they have zero heel, they are light and should fit properly so you will not be walking on the heel and turning them into hideous monsters.
I do not like the all black, but would buy phoenix boots in the future if I like the colours to have more than one pair. (Posted on 4/13/14)
Worth the money Review by Tova
I have worn these boots every day since they arrived about three weeks ago, and my feet have never been happier. They are soft, super warm, and waterproof (with waterproofing treatment). I'm glad I checked with the elves on sizing, because the fit is perfect, as if they were custom made for my feet. I would have ordered the smaller size, which would have been too small for sure. The only negative is that the sole is beginning to separate a tiny bit at the toe, and I don't want to part with them long enough to send them off for repair. (Posted on 2/5/14)
AH....mazing! Review by Jamie
I bought these right before they changed the soles to the newer, thinner ones so I can't comment on that aspect(I love the soles that are on mine, BTW!)
These knock the socks off the competition! Way better made, nicer leather, and super great fleece lining. I love the smooth vs sueded areas as the lower portions tend to get wet and the smooth areas don't discolor as badly by moisture. I did waterproof leather spray mine all ieve though.
SS makes awesome stuff! I have just about every shoe style they make. Can't go wrong! (Posted on 12/5/13)

Happy Feet! Review by Karel
I've worn nothing but SSS Merry Janes since last May, and love everything about them. The price of the boots made me hesitate, but my old boots just felt too weird and I don't think the MJ's are designed for snow, so I took the plunge. They arrived just ahead of our first snowfall -- and they are wonderful!!! Comfy, toasty warm ... I'm thrilled and winter doesn't seem so hard to take. (Posted on 11/28/13)

Cozy! Review by Alicia
I got these boots last year and they're still going strong. I live in Minnesota and have a pet care business, so I'm out walking dogs in all sorts of terrible weather. These keep my feet super toasty, even on days where the temp's well bellow zero. They're not the best when it's super wet out, but other than that, they're wonderful! Super cozy, lightweight, and crazy comfortable :) (Posted on 11/11/13)
Great Boots - glad they have a new sole! Review by jen
I bought these boots last year and they are wonderful - soft and warm inside, and keep your feet dry. My only complaint with them is that the soles had very little traction on ice and slippery snow. I wiped out a few times in them! I see that they have a new type of sole this year (darn - I should have waited!), so this would make them the perfect boot! (Posted on 9/1/13)
Is it winter yet? Review by Megi
Ordered these early after getting through last winter in ramblers and runamoc originals. We had a light snow year and I only needed my uncomfortable boots a few times...but I spent the winter with cold toes and an adept avoidance of snow. NOT THIS YEAR BRO! They are so warm, cozy, and flexible it is hard to believe they are snow boots. I can't wait to try trudging through snow and slush. (Posted on 7/31/13)

Find Your Size!

You can measure your feet at home using a book, a ruler and a wall. You can then see where the measurement fits on our charts below to find the recommended Softstar shoe size.

Note: we no longer recommend tracing your feet because it usually gives a larger measurement than the method described below. Our sizing charts work in accordance with the following method.

To measure your feet:

  1. 1. Remove shoes and socks and place your bare foot so that the heel is barely touching a wall.
  2. 2. Place a book in on the floor, parallel to the wall, so that it is barely touching the front of the longest toe.
  3. 3. Step away carefully and measure the distance from the book to the wall.
  4. 4. Scroll down and look for this measurement on the sizing charts below to find the recommended shoe size.

Once you find your length measurement, you can use table below to best find your corresponding size.

Wide/Narrow: Trouble deciding your width? Our best recommendation is to order a wide or narrow only if you have found you need those custom widths in other brands for your feet to be comfortable. If you have never found you needed wide or narrow shoes before then we suggest sticking with our regular width.

Style notes:

If you find yourself between two shoe sizes, we recommend ordering the larger size. This is especially true of our adult Phoenix Boots and Rogue casual shoes, which run a bit small.

Printable Stand-On Size Guides

We recommend using the measuring method shown above for the most accurate sizing, but if you'd like a simpler method then you may want to try our printable size guide. Just print the guide below and follow the instructions on the page.

Note: before you print the guide, make sure your printer settings will not shrink or scale the page. Uncheck any boxes labeled "Fit to Printable Area" and/or set scaling options to "None."

Care Tips for Sheepskin Boots

Softstar Phoenix boots are made from genuine, high quality sheepskin.

While genuine sheepskin is incredibly cozy and beautiful, it is also delicate and will stretch under strain. When wearing your Phoenix boots, use care to avoid stepping off the back or sides of your heels while you walk as doing so repeatedly can affect the shape of the boots and alter the way they fit. The best way to prevent this is by insuring you purchase the correct size. For adults, we recommend selecting a boot size that fits very snugly at first, as they will stretch over time. For children, growing room is important, so a little extra space is recommended. If possible, have your kids wear their boots the first few times on dryer days to give them time to form to their feet.

The boot uppers are made from eco-friendly leathers that are tanned in the USA. Our leather hides are natural products and some variation in texture and markings is to be expected. If you need to clean your boots, wash gently by hand with a damp cloth and let them air dry.

Condition the leather as often as desired with any quality leathercare product, but take care not to get any oils on the edges of the rubber soles. Mink oil, specifically, will degrade the sole adhesion and can lead to separation of soling over time—we do not recommend the use of mink oil anywhere on our boots, as it can eventually seep down to the sole. We recommend Bee Natural Amore for general conditioning or Bee Natural Rain and Snow or Nikwax Full Grain Waterproofing for enhanced moisture protection. Be careful to use these products only on the smooth leather portion of the shoes and not on the suede cuffs (leathercare products designed for the full grain leather uppers may permanently darken suede). It is not necessary to apply a suede protectant or waterproofer to the cuffs, but doing so may help keep that portion of the boot looking clean. If you do choose to add extra protection to the suede, be careful to use a product specifically made for suede leather.

Sheepskin boots can take 3-4 days to air dry if fully soaked with water. You can speed up the drying process by stuffing the boots with old newspapers and replacing the paper twice a day. If they become this wet, be very careful to avoid wearing them again until fully dry because the leather will be more susceptible to stretching and the fit may alter. Do not attempt to dry your shoes by exposing them to high heat, such as a clothes dryer, a hair dryer or by leaving them on a radiator or next to a fire. Doing so may damage leather or rubber soles.
