Elf Martin

Martin is a lifelong runner who began wearing minimalist shoes over 10 years ago when he found they alleviated his chronic foot pain, which eventually disappeared completely. He further studied proper running form through a series of workshops taught by Correct Toes inventor, Dr. Ray McClanahan DPM. Martin has collaborated with several health care professionals to collect and share peer-reviewed studies that show the benefits of minimalist footwear. In his personal life, Martin loves living in the Pacific Northwest because it allows him to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities year-round, including hiking, cycling, rock climbing, surfing and snowboarding.

Well, I've been DYING to try your shoes ever since I first went running in some little rope soled shoes and learned that a minimal shoe was SO much better for my feet than my ultra cushioned and structured orthotics! If I manage to not spend it all on myself (running shoes, hiking shoes, Mary janes, dyo's) I'll talk my kids into trying them too. And then we'll gear up for summer family camping and hiking in Utah!

I start by getting soft stars for myself and husband, we keep the children in them, and since they're growing, it's new shoes every season. But I generally put off getting them for myself, basically because I mostly get my things second hand. Which really is fine, but the parents would be getting soft stars this time as well ;) We have been making it a priority to get outdoors daily, and finding new and fun ways to do so. So any outdoor gear is welcome!
