78 and Counting!! Calling All Pancake Owners...
Some of you may be familiar with the Playful Pancake cat toys made by our 7 year old friend Cassidy. She uses Soft Star Shoes leather scraps to craft and sell toys for a charity called Kids for Kids. Each "pancake" purchase is a donation equal to one goat which are given to families in Sudan. Soft Star donates the scraps, order processing and shipping costs. So far Cassidy has raised enough money to purchase 78 GOATS and shows no signs of slowing down! Pretty incredible for a seven year old philanthropist.
For those of you who own a Playful Pancake-- you might be interested Cassidy's new blogspot at www.playfulpancakes.blogspot.com. Here you can see all the faces, places and occupations of various pancakes-- and even submit your own photo and biography for your personal pancake, if you'd like!
Soft Star Shoes is a family friendly company located in Corvallis, Oregon. Viewpoints in this blog are those of individual workshop elves, and do not necessarily represent those of www.SoftStarShoes.com

Growing up in rural Wisconsin, Tricia spent her summers running around barefoot with her sisters and brother. These early memories later inspired her to build a brand which embraced the joy and freedom of childhood with the health and science of minimal footwear. After 20+ years at the helm as C. Elf. O, Softstar proudly transitioned to employee-owned, and Tricia became the C.F.O. at Softstar. She is a frequent expert panelist for both e-commerce and entrepreneurship conferences.
