2020 Move Your DNA Weekend at Softstar Workshop

MARCH 2020 UPDATE: Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, this event has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule sometime in the fall of 2020. Thank you for understanding.

It's hard to believe it's almost been a full year, but we're gearing up for our next Move Your DNA weekend, coming this April!

For those of you out of the loop, Move Your DNA weekends are 2-day retreats that explore alignment and healthy movement, based on the award-winning book Move Your DNA by renowned biomechanist Katy Bowman. We're proud to once again provide our workshop space in beautiful Philomath, Oregon for this event, and the participants get the rare opportunity to meet our shoemaking elves and try on any Softstar styles their hearts desire.

So what happens at a Move Your DNA weekend? Here's a quick rundown:

  • Thirteen hours of instruction over two days
  • Practice of 40 MYDNA exercises
  • Small group training (1:10 instructor/student ratio)
  • Minimal footwear/barefoot experience
  • Introductory gait experience
  • Connection with other lovers of alignment and natural movement
  • A downloadable exercise workbook, available upon registration

We've seen firsthand the benefits of these workshops. Many of the participants have kept in touch with the Sotstar elves (one of them even works on our shoemaking team now) and we consistently hear that the training and guidance they received over the educational weekend has helped alleviate pain and allowed more movement and adventures in their lives. If you're interested in learning how to move your whole body for more whole-life benefits, then this weekend is for you!

The retreat is happening April 25–26, and if you're interested in signing up then now is the time to do it. Early bird registration is in effect until February 25, 2020, and that means you can save $30 on the registration fee!
