Gordo is here!
We were pretty excited last week when our new sewing machine, "Gordo", arrived. Every sewer in the shop has had rave reviews so far. As you can see, Leah is happily sewing away. Gordo, named after his girth, will take over the bulk of our heavy sewing... primarily sewing the shoe and moccasin uppers on to their soles.

For those shoes made before the arrival of Gordo, our old machine did a great job... and didn't go far. Judge Juki, the old work horse, is still clicking away. Judge Juki will primarily do all the pre-sewing from here on out. Kahlil hopes DeAnn will teach him how to run the Judge soon!

Growing up in rural Wisconsin, Tricia spent her summers running around barefoot with her sisters and brother. These early memories later inspired her to build a brand which embraced the joy and freedom of childhood with the health and science of minimal footwear. After 20+ years at the helm as C. Elf. O, Softstar proudly transitioned to employee-owned, and Tricia became the C.F.O. at Softstar. She is a frequent expert panelist for both e-commerce and entrepreneurship conferences.
