The North Star boot is a long time favorite with lace side closures, sheepskin innersole and sheepskin cuff that can be laced up or down as a cuff boot. Many customer use this as a winter shoe with the cuff down and do not even lace/unlace it - but rather slip it on and off.
Please specify if you want the boots laced up or down when you order - as lace length is different. If you specify alternate length laces - we will include extra laces so you can try them both ways.

Made for moderately cold weather, these are protective in snow and rain. This boot has genuine sheep fleece on the cuff and foot bed, but not on the upper brown leather portion - making it an excellent choice as a winter shoe and short snow playtimes. Warm, yet not over-heated! The Sheepskin color is a chocolate and when laced up it has a brown suede backing.
If you are looking for an even warmer boot - you can order a "Design Your Own" North Star that is fully lined, or you can check out our new fully lined Phoenix or Dakaota styles which are designed for all-day outdoor play in the coldest climates.
Made from the softest, formaldehyde-free leather, these boots are sure to please! Soft soles, lightweight, stylish and warm - hard to find all in one package!
If you plan to wear really thick socks with these boots, we recommend you order a size larger than normal, in a wide width.
We believe shoes should provide protection from the elements while doing their best to simulate barefoot conditions. Soft Star Shoes are designed wider, with flexible soft soles and natural breathable materials. All our soles are as lightweight and flexible as possible while still providing the protection needed.
For children in particular, this is important as the bones in their feet are still forming and not fully ossified until ages 9-11. Many children's shoes made today are simply scaled down versions of adult shoes with arch supports, stiff soles and foot beds that are too narrow to allow toes room to spread.
Our shoes have soft, flexible & protective rubber soling. Sizes 4-7 are low profile, whereas sizes 8 and up are slightly thicker to support the heavier weight of growing children. The soles will mold to your child's foot while providing the protection of a sturdy, non-slip shoe. For photos and more details about our soling, click here.
