Softstar Shoes Ranks as One of Oregon's Top 10 Greenest Companies!
Softstar continues its award streak, ranking 10th among Oregon Business's 100 Best Green Workplaces
Wow, what a spring it’s been here at the workshop! Just this past March, Softstar was selected from over 230 entrants to be named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon”. It was an amazing honor to have one of our core values recognized by the good people at Oregon Business, so you can imagine our excitement when we discovered that they weren’t finished yet.
As we say in Oregon, when it rains, it pours! We’re proud to announce that Softstar Shoes has also been named Number 10 of the “100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon”… hooray! Sustainability has always been a top priority for us; from alternative transit incentives to our extensive workplace recycling program to the solar energy that powers our shop, we’ve made it our mission to “walk lightly on the Earth” and to cherish the natural gifts of our beautiful Pacific Northwest home. It’s so wonderful to learn that we’re on the right track!
The 100 Best rankings were revealed at an award ceremony on June 1st, 2016 at The Nine’s Hotel in Portland, where Softstar founder Tim and veteran shoemaker Hava accepted the award on behalf of the Softstar family. Thanks again to all of our wonderful Softstar supporters... we couldn't do it without you!
