Ricky Nunn wins the "most efficient" and "biggest" use of scrap leather with his mosaic quilt. Made entirely from Soft Star Shoes leather scraps, the quilt measures 6 feet by 6 feet and weighs 15 lbs. Ricky made it on his home sewing machine - it took just 2 weeks of spare time to finish. Each piece is jigsawed together and then zigzag sewn to each other.

I am interested to know what the quilt back was finished with! I am in the process of finishing a sheepskin fur quilt made of scraps and do not know how to finish the back. thanks
Turns out this project was more of a blanket than a "quilt." The maker did not line the back of it, so the reverse of the project would look the same as the zigzag-stitched front, except it would have showed the unfinished suede side of the scraps. Best of luck with your own quilting adventures!
Its backed with red velvet ,the thread to make this quilt was $400 and it was glued onto a sheet then sewn . The glue was about $300 . the velvet was another $500 .This was no cheap quilt and my friend did an AMAZING job .
