Introducing Soft Star Resale - Buy and Sell Loved Shoes!

What do you do with your old shoes?

Shoe Pile

It isn't uncommon for a child to outgrow a pair of moccasins, or for an adult to retire a comfortable pair of RunAmocs in favor of a new color combination. But what if those old shoes still have a lot of life left in them? And what if you'd like to save money by buying a slightly used pair of Soft Stars?

We hate to see good shoes go to waste, and that's why we're thrilled to introduce our brand new Soft Star resale page! We hope to create an online community where our customers can help each other get more miles out of their shoes.

The process is very simple and uses Ebay to facilitate the exchange. Our new resale page will show auction and buy-it-now listings for our shoes. Buyers can visit this page for a quick search of Soft Stars available for sale, and sellers can offer their secondhand Soft Stars directly to our fans.

This is such a great idea and I'll definitely be shopping on the resale site for my toddler! On the opposite end of the spectrum, what happens when the sole of my shoe is completely worn through? Is there a way to send it back to you for a new sole? The rest of my shoe is in great condition and nicely molded to my foot, but I walk a lot of miles on concrete each day so I have a spot that has worn right through the rubber.

Hi Brad. Glad you like the resale page! I'm sorry to say we're not equipped to do soling repairs in our shop. Resoling requires a different set of tools and skills than putting a new sole on a new shoe (though we are looking into offering that service in the future). Often, our customers have found that a local cobbler could help them resole a shoe. We're also happy to send you scraps of our soling material if they are needed for a patch. Please note, however, that resoling is best done when the sole is worn out but the leather innersole is still intact. If the hole wears through both the outersole and the innersole then it may be very difficult for even an experienced cobbler to fix it. For more info, feel free to email our customer service elves directly: elves@softstarshoes.com.

Hey! Great ideas here. Would you consider replacing parts such as both the inner and outer soles, as in tough leather soled shoes. I can envision keeping a lot of you busy that way.
