I recently came across a fascinating article by Burkhard Bilger titled "Sole Survivor". Published by the New Yorker magazine, you can view the article in its entirety here. It is a witty, fascinating account of Professor Petr Hlavacek's quest to reconstruct the footwear used by Stone Age hunter "Otzi" - sprinkled with a humorous and insightful bits of footwear history. Both barefoot enthusiasts and footwear fanatics will love this article! Word of warning - it is a rather long read - so slip on your Soft Star mocs and make yourself a cup 'o your favorite beverage before snuggling up to enjoy this literary treat.
