All North Star boots have genuine sheepskin cuffs (the part that laces up) and cozy sheepskin footbeds. The colorful leather piece that goes over the foot IS NOT lined in sheepskin unless you select this option. The boots are warm and cozy and can be used as snow boots or warm winter shoes. If you live in an extremely cold climate and want the boot for extended snow play, we recommend you add the option to fully line the upper portion of the boot, as well. (For example - in Oregon, we usually do NOT fully line the boots as they get too hot, even for snow play. But if the child is going to be in the snow for more than an hour at a time-- it is a nice addition. Customers from upstate NY, Canada, etc... usually appreciate the fully lined version :-)
The versatile North Star boot can be worn laced up the calves, or with a nifty lacing trick, it can be converted to an adorable cuff boot that cinches at the ankles. If you want to have fun changing your look around, be sure to request laces in alternate lengths.

If you plan on using thick socks with this boot, we recommend you order a WIDE width and one size larger.
