Details

Let's face it, sometimes you just need a single shoe and you don't want to pay the full price for the pair. Sometimes a shoe gets lost, sometimes one gets damaged (we know, dogs love our natural leather) and sometimes medical conditions leave people with a need for just one.

Since we make all of our shoes by hand at our Oregon workshop, we can easily make just one left or right shoe for you at half the cost of the pair! Here's how it works:

  1. Choose which shoe you need (left or right) from the options above and add this virtual "product" to your cart.
  2. Pick any other shoe on our site and add it to your cart. That shoe will automatically be deducted to half the price and we'll only make one for you.

Terms and Details:

  • Orders for single shoes are non-returnable and non-refundable. Please contact us with any sizing questions before placing an order: elves@softstarshoes.com or (866) 763-2525.

  • Sizing Tip: If you would like to be sure of the size then we recommend ordering a full pair of shoes to try on for fit. You can then return them for a full refund (as long as they still look new) and order a non-returnable single shoe. We offer free domestic shipping from our workshop, so you'll only have to pay the charge of shipping the pair back to us.

  • If you are trying to match a lost or damaged design-your-own shoe that we made for you in the past, it would help if you could email us a photo of the shoe you still have so we can match small details like the thread color, insole color, star motif, etc. Please note that our natural leather can vary between hides, so colors and grain texture may differ slightly from your original shoe.

  • Adding this single shoe product to your cart tells us you want every shoe on your order to be single. If you would like to order a full pair in addition to a single shoe, please place another order for it. We'll be happy to combine shipping on multiple orders if you ask us to do so in the "Notes" field above.

  • The following shoes, which are pre-made, are only sold as complete pairs and cannot be separated into single shoes:
    • Shoes from our One-of-a-Kind category
    • Clearance Sale Shoes
    • Limited Quantity Shoes
    • Third-party footwear, such as Padraig slippers and Tabor Desert Moccasins.

Unsure about your size? Our printable guides will help you find the best fit for your feet! Just print the guide for the appropriate age group below and follow the instructions on the page (if you don't have access to a printer then click here or scroll down for another option).

Note: before you print these guides, make sure your printer settings will not shrink or scale the page. Uncheck any boxes labeled "Fit to Printable Area" and/or set scaling options to "None."

No Printer? No Problem!

You can still measure feet using the method below (also shown in our sizing videos). You can then scroll down and see where your measurements fall on our sizing charts to find the recommended shoe size. All you need is a book, a tape measure and a wall.

Note: we no longer recommend tracing your feet because it usually gives a larger measurement than the method described below. Our sizing charts work in accordance with the following method.

To measure your feet:

1. Remove shoes and socks and place the bare foot so that the heel is barely touching a wall.
2. Place a book in on the floor, parallel to the wall, so that it is barely touching the front of the longest toe.
3. Step away carefully and measure the distance from the book to the wall.
4. Scroll down and look for this measurement on the sizing charts below to find the recommended shoe size.

Once you find your length measurement, you can use table below to best find your corresponding size.

Wide/Narrow: Trouble deciding your width? Our best recommendation is to order a wide or narrow only if you have found you need those custom widths in other brands for your feet to be comfortable. If you have never found you needed wide or narrow shoes before then we suggest sticking with our regular width.

Style notes:

If you find yourself between two shoe sizes, we recommend ordering the larger size. This is especially true of our adult Phoenix Boots, Portlanders and Rogue casual shoes, which run a bit small.
